About Jon Lee Sarasota

Jon R. Lee is a financial services firm managing partner and chief executive officer from Sarasota County, Florida. He is the founder of LCM Capital Advisors and boasts over 30 years of experience in the industry.

He graduated from Sarasota High School in 1987 and the University of Florida in 1991. Sarasota was born and raised in Siesta Key, where he now lives with his two black Labrador Retrievers. He proudly supports numerous charities, nonprofit organizations, and other good causes, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.

Aside from his work and charitable efforts, the long-time Sarasota Yacht Club and Sarasota Sports Club members’ hobbies include boating, pickleball, tennis, running, and working out. He is also closely involved with Bayside Community Church.

Academic History

University of Florida

After completing his studies at Sarasota High School in 1987, he attended the University of Florida in Alachua County in the Sunshine State, graduating in 1991. The institution is a top-five public land-grant research university. It is from the University of Florida that he holds his Bachelor of Science degree.

The institution, which dates back to 1853, is a senior member of the State University System of Florida. It grants its students a collaborative environment focused on accelerating their futures and has operated continuously on its current Gainesville campus since 1906.

At the University of Florida, Sarasota native Lee played on the Alachua County-based institution’s baseball and football teams. He also became a proud member of Alpha Tau Omega, established in 1865, America’s foremost leadership development fraternity.

Series 7 license holders are qualified to solicit, purchase, and sell securities products, including corporate securities. Series 31 license holders, meanwhile, may also sell managed futures funds and supervise associated activities.

Elsewhere, most U.S. states require Series 65 licensure for individuals to act as investment advisers. A Florida 2-14 Life and Variable Annuities Agent license further allows those operating in the Sunshine State to transact life insurance and handle fixed-dollar annuity contracts.

Charitable Endeavors

Jon, Who Was Born and raised in Sarasota, maintains strong ties with the local community. He focuses primarily on helping the area’s youth. He has served on the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties for over 25 years. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties have led local youth development since 1970.

Furthermore, Lee is an active member of the nonprofit UNI Corporation and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office advisory board. He is also a former member of the board of directors of the Sarasota County Gator Club and served as a volunteer football coach for Sarasota High School from 2010-2017.

Personal Life & Interests

A native of Sarasota, Jon Lee was born and grew up in the Gulf Coast city, around an hour south of Tampa, Florida. The Sarasota High School graduate’s roots in the city run deep, with his mother, Marilynn, also attending the same high school as a girl. Meanwhile, his father, Dick, graduated from Manatee High School in nearby Bradenton, Florida, in 1938.

Today, he lives on the barrier island of Siesta Key in the Gulf of Mexico, just off the coast of Sarasota. Siesta Key is famed for its sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. He has now enjoyed living on the island for over two decades. A lifelong dog owner, he currently has two much-loved black Labrador Retrievers.

The proud Sarasota Sports Club member is an avid pickleball and tennis player. His other hobbies and interests include fine dining, fitness, skiing, running, and travel. He is equally passionate about boating and is a ten-year member of the Sarasota Yacht Club.
